Allows you to share files between the systems, can run multiple OSes, easy to set-up and install
You'll need plenty of memory, it's not as fast as a dedicated machine, you won't be able to play games unless you've got plenty of power
For those who need access to another OS but don't want to have a second computer, this is a great way to have your cake and eat it...
