  • Abstract:  Let's face it: old games rarely withstand retrospective criticism. Many of today's classic titles and pioneers would be found nigh-unplayable by future generations of gamers, spoiled in part by modern titles that have learned from those same pioneers...

  • Entertaining plot and characters, Multiple dialogue paths and endings, Attractive animated sequences and portraits, Novel friendship concept.
  • Poor minigames, Limited exploration, Slowpaced, occasionally buggy combat, Lackluster 3D environments.
  • This amusing strategy RPG is as close as you're likely to get to starring in your own anime....

  • Abstract:  Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love is a strategy role-playing game that cleverly mimics Japanese animation, presenting a highly original and hilarious adventure. The game unfolds like an interactive anime, implementing wild situations and comical characters...

  • Abstract:  How much interaction do you need to enjoy a game? I mean, is the simple act of pressing a button to advance some text boxes sufficient gameplay? I ask you, the reader, because from the outset of Sakura Wars: So Long My Love I felt I was playing someth...

  • Abstract:  Published May 6th 2010. Written by Dominic Sheard. The Sakura Wars franchise is a series that I’d heard plenty about, but have never been able to play because the entire series was exclusive to Japan. It’s a strange predicament because the franchise is...

  • Abstract:  Ever since the Super Nintendo console, Nintendo has been an innovative and creative company when it comes to the development of games. For instance, I recall playing the game Aerobiz where you have to manage a fledgling airline to become profitable and...

  • Interesting mix of actions to make choices and affect the story, interesting storyline divided into “episodes,” strategic battles work well and look great, multiple endings, photo sidequests and there are special codes for extra photos and extras. The storyline is cheesy, but in a good way. The occasional errand running is fun, and the free play mode where you can sort-of explore is neat.
  • Too few strategic battles and no Japanese language option. Can’t skip some repetitive animated sequences. Some people experience freezing or crashes, especially if they load saves from the middle of battles. (I didn’t, but I did witness it happen to a friend.)

  • Einzigartiges Spielprinzip, Acht Kapitel à ca. drei Stunden Spielzeit, NunchuckController optional, HQAnimevideosequenzen, Packende Atmosphäre
