Exposures too light, fringing, EVF not as good as others
The SP-570’s decent EVF and good zoom ring help it to stand out from the others; however it lacks the finesse of the Nikon Coolpix P80, particularly in terms of image quality. Overall it’s a case of mixed blessings from Olympus.
A digital SLR camera requires carrying a large camera case with multiple lenses and dealing with sometimes inconvenient lens swapping. The SP-570 offers a wide range of features that meet those of SLRs without the necessity for extra lenses and extra c...

Lots of helpful and useful features.
Slow; big; manual zoom ring on lens not responsive enough; cant zoom in movie capture.
Poor performance diminishes the Olympus SP-570 UZs potential as an otherwise solid megazoom. Specifications: Digital camera type: Full body; Resolution: 10 megapixels; Optical zoom: 20 x; See full specs Price range: $377.95 - $508.63
Great range of options, simple to use for novices, options for advanced users, good build quality
Price, electronic view finder not fantastic, needs xD-Picture Card (not supplied), battery life, image quality can suffer

Zoom range is broader than the others on test, tank-like build, ‘grown up’ zoom control, Raw+JPEG capture, optional teleconverter

Great long zoom range; ability to capture images in RAW, lightweight and portable.
Slow startup time; slow focusing speed; video mode does not allow the use of optical zoom without sacrificing audio.
It is without a doubt that the main attraction of the camera is its long 20x zoom, which is a big plus for photographers looking for that extra range. Its compact size also makes it an ideal camera to bring along on long trips out. Other than its extr...
A camera that plants a foot in both the DSLR and compact digital camp. Its 20x zoom and super macro mode are superb, but handling could be improved and we’re not sure who this camera will ultimately appeal to. ...

Build quality; specifications; controls
Patchy image quality; sluggish response time
You can't argue with what the Olympus SP-570 UZ can do, only how well it does it. While it looks and feels a cut above the rest, its failings are typical of superzoom compacts in general, including sluggish responses, poor high ISO performance and len...
