  • Good price/performance ratio; faster than most rotating storage.
  • Slower than other SSDs; pretty slow write speeds.
  • OCZ delivers solid price/performance ratios in an SSD, but youll give up a little raw performance. ...

  • Abstract:  It's been a slow and steady race but SSDs are finally starting to overtake hard drives as the primary choice when it comes to personal computer storage. Even though they still can't rival the price per gigabyte of hard drives, with so much of our lives no...

  • Great Read Performance, Great Real World Performance, Very good write performance, Decreased chances of bad stuttering happening, Reasonable price (especially when compared to the X25 on a $ per GB basis), Moderate power draw
  • Still not priced well when compared to Spindle based hard drives, Stutter in some instances can occur even with a tweaked OS, Still uses JMicron controllers, Only 2 year warranty
  • When we went into this review we thought we had a fairly good idea of what to expect from the OCZ Apex. We knew it was going to have for all intents and purposes the same generation of MLC NAND chips, the same RAID controller and even the same JM602 du...

  • Fortunately you cant compare the Apex with the Core V2. The revised JMicron controller combined with the internal RAID 0 architecture performs way better. With the Apex you also dont get the annoying stutting you got with the Core V2. As a matter of ...

  • Summarizing the performance of OCZs Apex Series SSD is rather straight-forward. The OCZ Apex Series SSD trailed the Intel X25-M is every benchmark in regard to Read performance, and generally trailed Intels offering in write performance as well. I...

  • Blisteringly fast, Silent operation, Cheaper than the Intel X25-M
  • Still an expensive luxury

  • If you have been itching to pick up an SSD and have the money to do so, the OCZ Apex SSD is a solid performer, meeting rated specifications with a relatively affordable price tag for an MLC SSD at this capacity. I have no problems recommending this p...
