  • The Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 9 is the most customizable gaming mouse available. Its two battery packs and included recharging station mean no downtime. Its unique looks make a statement, it boasts strong build quality, and it features useful button function
  • This mouse is expensive at $149. The lateral scroll wheel is positioned awkwardly
  • The Mad Catz Cyborg R.A.T. 9 is the most expensive gaming mouse we know of, but its vast customizability, unique features, and strong performance make it a worthwhile expense for demanding PC gamers.

  • completely customizable physically, superb performance, weights system, Precision Aim Mode helps, two battery cartridges for 24/7 wireless gaming, additional scroll wheel is awesome,
  • side buttons aren’t really accessible, Precision Mode button is hard to press and hold, adjusted palm rest rattles a bit

  • Abstract:  When I reviewed the RAT 7, I was impressed. It’s a great mouse, but I always knew that Mad Catz was holding back. The company did so, of course, to make the RAT 9. But the RAT 7 was so good! What else could be done to make an already excellent gaming m...

  • Abstract:  When Douglas Engelbart invented the mouse back in the late 1960’s, he couldn’t have imagined that his invention would become something like the Cyborg RAT 9 Gaming Mouse. There’s no way he could imagine that his simple wooden box with wheels would beco...

  • It’s certainly an original piece of work, and for a power user, it could be amazing, as long as you don’t mind switching out the battery every day. And it certainly looks cool, or if not cool, then at least interesting. But I don’t think it’s going to...

  • You can adjust and configure the mouse body for a perfect fit, Excellent, heavyduty construction with lots of metal, Onthefly selection of resolutions and modes, Instant responsiveness equivalent to the best wired mice, Easily swappable batteries; extra battery charges in the receiver, Precision Aim button!,
  • Expensive mouse solution, Profile Editor software somewhat limited; must manually load game profiles, Profile data stored in the driver, not the mouse, No "free scrolling" option on the scroll wheel, Minimal documentation.
  • I'm interested in pointing devices, and have rather a lot of them, including a collection of wired and wireless mice, Bluetooth trackpads, and several standard and thumb-operated trackballs. I loved the feel and features of my R.A.T. 7, but its incons...

  • Low-latency wireless connectivityGreat battery life with hot-swappable packsIt's a transforming mouse
  • No easy way to grab battery packsSlight fit and finish issuesNot quite one-size-fits-all
  • Despite its customizable hardware, the Rat 9 won't fit everyone. It wouldn't fit our hand perfectly, though it was fairly comfortable. It won't fit pro gamers who scoff at wireless-only mice for fear of interference at LAN events, even when confronted wit...
