  • Abstract:  The iPods scroll wheel interface is easy to use and looks great, but troublesome patent laws mean that no-one else can copy it. This leaves other manufacturers with the headache of finding something that works as well. IRiver has endowed some of it...

  • Lightweight, fits easily in your pocket.
  • No hard drive.
  • The iRiver U10 consists of virtually no more than a high-resolution display with no button or knob in sight. It also doesn?t have a hard disk, instead coming with 512MB or 1GB memory. As a result, it?s light, only 70 g and can fit easily in a pocket, m...

  • Very good audio quality and photo capabilities. Interesting design. Supports Macromedia Flash games and animation. Good battery life.
  • Transferring photos requires using included conversion software. Video format requirements are slightly odd, and software isnt included. Video playback is jumpy.
  • If youre really hot on the design, love silly Flash games, and dont really care about video playback, the U10 is a good, but expensive, choice....

  • Wonderfully sleek and stylish design; unique and intuitive interface; supports OGG files and subscription content; includes FM radio, voice recorder, alarm clock and SRS WOW sound effects; photo, video and text viewing
  • Expensive; maximum capacity is 1GB; no autoplay; no album art; useful cradle is sold separately
  • The pricey iRiver U10 is a superbly designed MP3 player that is both easy to use and packed with pretty much every feature in the book. But Apple wont be quaking in its boots until iRiver ups its capacity ...
