Poor color tracking and gamma curve, bad off-axis viewing creates the appearance of non-uniform backlighting.
If you really need an affordable 24" widescreen monitor that swivels to portrait view, this will do. For most users, you would be better off spending a little more to avoid the image quality problems of HPs latest monitor....
