  • Big bump in performance, especially graphics, makes iPad even more competitive in the mobile gaming space, Doubling the memory makes apps and Web browsing more useful, Device is thinner and lighter than the previous model, feels much more Kindle-like in t
  • The new cameras are better than no cameras, though they're not particularly great, "Real" GPS only comes with the 3G models, Glass is thinner than before; be cautious of easier breakage
  • When Steve Jobs introduced the iPad 2, he insisted that the rumors were wrong, that this device was no tweak or speed bump—it was a major update to Apple's original tablet. He may have been right in some respects, but overall, we have to disagree. The...

  • Highly reflective screen, Slippery, No expandable memory, Poor visibility outdoors, Poor still image quality
  • The Apple iPad 2 right now is cheaper and easier to use, but not necessarily better endowed than competing tablets – but that doesn't matter. ...

  • An iterative improvement upon Apple’s first tablet computer, benefitting from modest size and weight reductions, two color options, as well as considerable under-the-hood improvements in speed. Still includes integrated apps for audio, video, and phot
  • New integrated cameras produce blurry, grainy images that are unacceptably weak for still photography and look poor when forced to fill the display; video recorded by the rear 720p camera is only acceptable. Modest reductions in headphone port audio a
  • Archived: Our Original First Look at iPad 2, Including VideosOne year ago, pundits were split but surprisingly pessimistic regarding the prospects for the iPad (iLounge Ratings: A- (Wi-Fi) / B+ (3G)), Apple's first tablet computer. Though the iPad possess...

  • Apple's iPad 2 is dramatically thinner; boasts front and rear cameras; FaceTime video chat; faster processor; 3G option.
  • The iPad's screen resolution hasn't budged; camera photo quality is mediocre; there's still no Adobe Flash support; ports for HDMI, USB, and SD all require adapters.
  • The iPad 2 refines an already excellent product. Its easy-to-use interface, vast app catalog, and marathon battery life bolster Apple's claim to being the king of tablets. ...

  • New A5 chip and RAM significantly improve overall performance, and gaming in particular. Dual cameras work fine for video calls. Thinner, lighter unibody looks slick and makes the iPad more comfortable to use. Video mirroring adds “teaching and presentation tool” to the iPad’s list of many useful functions. Magnet-based Smart Cover is an ingenious, valuable accessory. Same pricing as first iPad.
  • No transformative new features. Display is unchanged, so it still isn’t usable in bright sunlight and attracts lots of smudgy fingerprints. Cameras yield poor, low-res photos. Using cameras is often difficult and requires awkward grip. No support for 4G cellular data. Still no expansion ports.
  • With properly calibrated expectations--think minor refresh, rather than next generation--the iPad 2 continues Apple’s reign as the king of tablets. If you haven’t bought one yet, the iPad 2 is a stellar device that still feels like a little slice of ...
